SINCGARS RT-1523G: How to Fix HUB Expiration Date
March 30, 2020
— This article originally appeared in PS 774, P. 47. The RT-1523G has a hold up battery (HUB) circuit card assembly (CCA) that needs to be replaced, unlike an E or F model SINCGARS that has a built-in HUB. One issue is that the RT-1523G’s HUB CCA is only rated to last 5-10 years, depending on the use of the RT. But once it expires and is replaced, the HUB installation and expiration date stay the same on the radio display. Click more to learn how to resolve this issue...

Patriot Missile System: Don’t Skimp on Filters
March 27, 2020
— This article initially appeared in PS 799, Page 38. Dear Editor, I know PS has recommended in the past that Patriot crews keep an extra set of filters on hand to make it easier for Patriot components to get plenty of cooling air. A dirty filter makes components overheat and can damage expensive circuit cards...
