I Sustain This: July 2023 Nominees

PS Magazine’s I Sustain This campaign is designed to recognize civilian sustainers who exemplify the highest standards while maintaining equipment to meet combat readiness requirements and stay in the fight, even under the most arduous of circumstances.
For July 2023, we had one civilian sustainer nominated for this program: Mrs. Jonina Young, FORSCOM G-2 Readiness Specialist, Ft Liberty, NC.

Jonina Young
Army Civilian
Forces Command (FORSCOM) G-2 Readiness Specialist
Ft Liberty, NC
Nominated by: Thomas Kabel
Why does this person deserve recognition? Mrs. Jonina Young works daily to ensure that all Military Intelligence (MI) systems within FORSCOM’s corps, divisions and brigades are fielded, trained and tracked correctly for maintenance. She works tirelessly to ensure these critical MI systems are tracked and maintained at the highest level of readiness by coordinating directly with leaders across the Department of Defense including, but not limited to: program executive offices, program managers, regional support centers, and corps, division and brigade commanders. Mrs. Young also supports global deployments of FORSCOM intelligence systems equipment. She supported the deployment of the immediate response force (IRF) twice and the intelligence systems maintenance requirements during the Afghanistan withdrawal. She plays a major role in the modernization efforts of Army ground intelligence systems as the FORSCOM representative in the equipping, maintenance, and sustainment portions of development and prototyping.
Additional Comments: Mrs. Young volunteers for meetings with general officers, where she stresses the real-world requirements that current and future MI systems need, providing the intelligence community with the ability to build situational understanding and achieve decision dominance over our adversaries .She has proven time and time again that she is the FORSCOM readiness expert and professionally synchronizes MI systems fielding schedules with unit training calendars, manning cycles and deployment windows.
