M1070A1 HET: Steering Gear NSN

BLUF: Get a new steering gear for the M1070A1 heavy equipment transporter (HET) with NSN 2530-01-593-9062
 
Get a new steering gear for the M1070A1 heavy equipment transporter (HET) with NSN 2530-01-593-9062. It replaces the current steering gear, NSN 2530-01-581-0438.

You’ll notice that the new gear doesn’t come with an additional tube attached like the old gear did. Once the old steering gear is disconnected from the truck, the tube should stay in place, so a replacement tube isn’t needed.

Make a note of the new NSN for Item 1 in Fig 174 of TM 9-2320-427-13&P (IETM EM 0310, Jan 11).
