Operators and mechanics, cold and potentially adverse weather is just around the corner. Per the US Army Combat Readiness Center infographic below, the best way to minimize risk associated with ice, snow and frost (and adverse weather in general) is to develop standardized departure briefs that include specific information, including speeds, annunciations and decision points. Refer to the operator’s manual, TM-1550-697-10-2 (Jun 21).

The graphic also stresses the need to apply de-icing fluid; abide by an addendum to Q-1-20-AMAM-08 (found HERE); be attentive to warnings, cautions and notes; and follow TM 1-1550-696-23&P (EM 0371, Oct 21).
