Warfighters, some units are telling the FMTV Sustainment Team that they’re experiencing problems with the engine air inlet heater solenoid in FMTVs with the C-7 engine.

The main problem is how the engine air inlet heater solenoid is positioned in the engine compartment, which makes it vulnerable to vibration, heat and moisture.

The good news is that there’s an engine air inlet heater solenoid kit available for FMTVs with the C-7 engine. The kit comes with NSN 5945-01-626-8750 and includes a more robust solenoid, a new bracket that repositions the solenoid and installation instructions.
