Unit alert! Lack of PMCS has caused issues with the 2kW Novatio generator. Specifically, Soldiers aren’t properly maintaining oil levels in this model.
To combat this problem, the vendor has created an oil maintenance sticker as a visual reminder that’s attached to all new generators. It can also be added to existing generators. The sticker covers the procedures for proper oil application in a handy bulleted list.

The Novatio 2kW generator is not a military tactical generator (MTG) or a tactical quiet generator (TQG). The MTG and TQG are the legacy 2kW and 3kW generators that have been around since 1996 and 2001, respectively. The Novatio 2kW is a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) generator being used as a stopgap solution until the 2kW MTG replacement and 3kW TQG replacement are developed and produced.

For fielded units, the PM will send the oil maintenance stickers to the field service representatives (FSRs), who will place the stickers on the generators. The vendor will also include the stickers in future procurements.
