FMTV: Interconnecting Box NSNs for GEN IV and GEN V Transmissions

On Page 14 of PS 753 (Aug 15), we let you know that for FMTVs from serial numbers 100,001 or above, you could get an interconnecting box using NSN 5895-01-591-7887.
        
That’s still true. However, NSN 5895-01-591-7887 is listed in FED LOG as AAC “V”, which means you can only order it until stock is depleted. It’s currently priced at $767.
        
TM 9-2320-333-23&P (Jun 19) lists NSN 5895-01-591-7887 for 2 ½ -ton FMTVs as Item 56 in Fig 14 and for 5-ton FMTVs as Item 56 in Fig 1014 for GEN IV transmissions. It also lists NSN 5895-01-649-8229 in both figures for GEN V transmissions, at a cost of $582.
        
Bottom line: either interconnecting box NSN is acceptable to use with the GEN IV or GEN V transmissions. So make a note until the TM is updated.
