Maintenance Mgmt: Chock Blocks - Any Inspection Criteria?

BLUF: There isn’t a specific set of rules for inspecting chock blocks.

Dear Half-Mast,

I’ve been inspecting the wooden chock blocks we use for our trucks. Unfortunately, I’ve found several that are ripped, warped, gouged and generally in poor condition.
Is there an inspection regulation for determining if a chock block is too damaged to use?

Dear Sergeant,  

According to TACOM, there isn’t a regulation governing chock block inspections, so your local SOP will do. But we previously published several NSNs to purchase chock blocks of various materials and sizes on Page 15 of PS 762 (May 16).
