ITAS: Repair or Replace Damaged Tube?

Improved Target Acquisition System (ITAS)

Operators, while performing PMCS on your Improved Target Acquisition System (ITAS) using TM 9-1425-923-10 (Mar 19), do you know what to do if you find the launch tube has a crack or is damaged?

Report it to your mechanic!

Your unit’s land combat electronic missile system repairer (MOS 94A) can open a job order for repair. But first, the 94A will inspect the launch tube following guidance in WP 0108 of TM 9-5865-923-23&P (EM 0374, Nov 18) to see if they can repair it. If the launch tube is repairable, the 94A will order repair kit, NSN 1440-00-152-3172, to fix the tube. The kit costs $344.70.

You may be able to save more than $3,000 with just a job order.

If the launch tube fails the inspection, then a new one comes with NSN 1440-00-196-0038. It costs $3,705.
