M1231 HUSKY: CTIS Pressure Settings

Operators and mechanics,

If MWO 9-2355-316-50-7 was applied to your unit’s M1231 HUSKY, make sure the central tire inflation system’s (CTIS’s) “ROAD” pressure setting is only used with the Michelin wheel assembly, NSN 2530-01-680-8939.

Don’t use Continental’s road wheel assembly, NSN 2530-01-578-8932, or Continental’s overpass wheel assembly, NSN 2530-01-567-7853.

The MWO results in changes to the tire pressure settings, the CTIS control box placard and the tire placard.

Pressure settings are as follows:

  1. Continental overpass wheel assembly, NSN 2530-01-567-7853; use “overpass” mode (CTIS settings: 12, 15, 29 psi, depending on the mission).
  2. Continental road tire, NSN 2530-01-578-7853; use “overpass” mode at the “on-road” setting (CTIS setting: 29 psi)
  3. Michelin road tire, NSN 2530-01-680-8939; use “road” mode (CTIS settings: 50, 50, 61 psi).

A future update to TM 9-2355-316-10 (Jun 19) will include the new CTIS pressures.

Be forewarned, the updated CTIS control box placard no longer lists tire psi for each of the settings, and the updated tire placard located on the fenders now only lists “61 PSI” for the road tire. All of these changes mean operators and mechanics need to know which wheel assembly is on their vehicle.

An MWO 9-2355-316-50-7 tag (which essentially states that the MWO has been applied and the date) will be applied inside the auxiliary storage compartment located on the rear of the HUSKY cab.
