M9 ACE: Keep Rollers Rollin’

Without lube, ejector guide rollers in the earthmover’s bowl will lock up.

A roller that won’t turn on one side of the bowl causes the ejector to bind or drag on the other side of the bowl. If you see rubs or indents on the roller bench, it means the roller isn’t turning freely.

During scheduled services, give each roller’s grease fitting several pumps of good old-fashioned GAA. While you’re at it, do the same for the grease fitting on the ejector’s cylinder rod.

For safety’s sake, make sure the ejector is pushed completely forward and the lock is engaged before you go into the bowl.
