Warfighters, TACOM has noticed that shock bushings, also known as resilient mounts, aren’t being serviced during PMCS. So, if you have an MATV, you’ll want to check the shock bushings ASAP.
That’s because TM 9-2355-335-10 (Jan 22) currently tells you to check the shocks but doesn’t specifically tell you to check the bushings, which causes many operators to overlook them during PMCS.
There are two (2) shock bushings per shock and a total of eight (8) per truck. The shock bushings are listed as Item 8 in Fig 204 in the Repair Parts & Special Tools List (RPSTL) of TM 9-2355-335-23&P (Jan 22). The bushings are shown below:

It’s important to note that the shock bushings are rubber and while they start life shiny black in color, they’ll typically degrade to a grayish color over time due to weather and normal wear.

You should check the shock bushings for damage that would impair operation like large cracks in the bushing. If you’re unsure if a bushing is serviceable or needs replacement, note the bushing deficiency during PMCS and notify a mechanic.
