All Aircraft: Crash Kit Modernized

Aviators, make a note that the aviation crash kit, NSN 5180-00-903-1049, LIN W31565, has been modernized with a new NSN.

The original kit is a terminal item and can no longer be ordered. The new kit replaces old analog equipment with a digital camera, handheld GPS, and digital voice recorder.     You can order the modernized aviation crash kit with NSN 5180-01-629-5027.

What do you do with the old kits? Well, they’ll be replaced through attrition. Units can turn in the old kit once they receive the new kit. The new kit is stock funded, but units have to submit a funded requisition.
